5 Days Until the Election (11/05/24)

We are in the final countdown to Election Day, and NextGen America is fully engaged and ready to make an impact! Our teams are ensuring young voters are informed and prepared to vote, whether it’s through same-day registration or making a plan for casting their ballots. The enthusiasm is palpable as our teams dive into these on-the-ground efforts. We’re thrilled to harness this momentum and continue mobilizing young voters to the polls through Election Day!

🤝On the Ground🤝

Team Michigan

During Michigan State’s Homecoming weekend, NextGen America organizers in Michigan hosted a 3-point shoot-out competition, Buckets and Ballots, in an effort to mobilize and educate young voters at Michigan State University in partnership with Moneyball Sportswear. The event featured MSU basketball stars Coen Carr and Kur Teng, as well as MSU defensive back Dillon Tatum.

Streaming 🎮

NextGen America partners with Fohr, the largest independent influencer marketing company, to activate streamers like Eret, Preheat, Jeff Hoogland, and more through our voter chatbot, VOTE-E. Streamers will mention VOTE-E and direct users to the Discord bot for election-related resources on November 1, November 4, and Election Day, November 5. Streamers and communities of any size can add VOTE-E to their server. They will hold one-on-one conversations with users via direct messages, referencing helpful voting information from official resources in their state.

✨Young Voter Spotlight✨

Sangwani G, 18, he/him, registered with NextGen America to vote for the first time

Sangwani is an 18-year-old freshman at Penn State University studying Industrial Engineering who registered to vote for the first time ever with NextGen America. He said that, “I always heard that my age, my generation, has the lowest turnout in each election. I think that we should have more of a say in our process.” Sangwai had never voted before and had many questions about how, when, and where to vote. He was thankful for the NextGen staff and volunteers who were able to share with him important information that he needed know to cast his ballot in Pennsylvania.

He talked about the issues that young people face from economic concerns, to the climate, to gun violence. Sangwai also spoke about how young people should vote now and vote often and those who do not will likely regret it.
